04 — Shenzhen sourcing
Beyond Standard Distribution
When normal distribution cannot meet the requirement, submit the part number or BOM for a manual Shenzhen supplier search. Shenzhen Depot is most useful when:
- Authorized distributors are out of stock
- A component is obsolete or discontinued
- Lead times are too long for production
- Small quantities fall below distributor MOQs
- A shortage is stopping a production line
- You need replacement or alternative components
- A legacy product still requires old components

05 — BOM tool
Upload Your BOM for Component Review
Upload an electronic component BOM to identify part numbers, manufacturers, lifecycle issues, sourcing gaps, and components requiring manual Shenzhen quotations. Every submitted BOM is reviewed before supplier outreach.

06 — Process
How sourcing works
Sourcing is manually managed at this stage — a person reviews every request before any supplier is contacted.
01
Search or submit a part
Enter a part number or upload a complete BOM.
02
Review component data
Check specifications, lifecycle, packaging, and sourcing notes.
03
Request Shenzhen sourcing
Ask our team to search relevant Shenzhen suppliers for unavailable or difficult components.
04
Receive structured options
Review price, quantity, lead time, packaging, disclosed condition, testing availability, and supplier information.
07 — Risk
Understand the Sourcing Risk
Independent-channel sourcing carries real risks. Know what they mean, why they matter, and what to request before you buy.
Counterfeit components
Parts that are not what the marking claims — blanks, wrong dies, or empty packages.
Request: Traceability documents, X-ray and decapsulation testing, electrical verification.
Re-marked components
Genuine but lower-grade parts re-labeled as faster, newer, or industrial-temp variants.
Request: Surface permanency testing, marking comparison against a known-good reference.
Refurbished components
Recovered parts cleaned and re-balled or re-tinned, sold without disclosure.
Request: Disclosed condition category, lead/ball inspection, solderability testing.
Used or pulled components
Parts removed from scrapped boards; function may be degraded or lifespan shortened.
Request: Condition disclosure, sample electrical testing before full shipment.
Mixed date codes
One shipment spanning many production lots — a problem for traceability and reflow profiles.
Request: Date-code listing per quantity, lot photographs before shipment.
Lack of traceability
No documented chain from manufacturer to seller — the root condition behind most other risks.
Request: Any available chain documentation, plus independent testing when absent.
Supplier screening and testing can reduce risk but cannot guarantee the authenticity, quality, or performance of every component.
08 — Obsolete components
Source Obsolete and Discontinued Electronic Components
Legacy equipment doesn't stop needing parts when the manufacturer stops making them. Search obsolete part numbers, review lifecycle history and last-time-buy records, then request a manual Shenzhen search — with testing options and disclosed condition on every offer.
09 — Provenance
Where the data comes from
Not all data is equally authoritative. Every field carries a source label and a confidence level, and important records show a last-updated date.
Confidence levels
| Confirmed | Verified against two or more independent sources |
| Manufacturer-sourced | Taken directly from manufacturer publications |
| Third-party sourced | From distributors or public databases |
| Supplier-reported | Claimed by a supplier, not yet verified |
| Manual verification required | Use only as a starting point for review |
